History and true stories, told like a documentary

A history video stands on what it shows. VidGenius gives you five ways to show the past - from real footage found for every sentence to scenes that could never have been filmed.

Real footage, found for you

The Documentary style searches for footage for each sentence, and puts photographs, maps, figures and real pages between. You check every piece on a timeline before rendering.

Footage that is free to use

The Stock Footage Documentary shows your script with stock footage and public-domain archive film only.

What no camera saw

3D Mannequin Documentary stages the story with faceless figures and a moving camera. Illustrated Story paints a scene for every page.

Where it happened

2D Map Animation tells borders, routes and events on a real map, as a vertical short.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose a style

Pick how the video should look: a hand-drawn whiteboard, a real-footage documentary, an AI presenter, a vertical short. Every style shows a sample before you choose it.

  2. 2

    Say what it is about

One line is enough - the script is written for you. Or paste your own script, upload your own voice recording, or bring your own footage or links, depending on the style.

  3. 3

Check the script and the credits

Read the script, change any line, pick the language and the narrator. You see exactly what the video takes before anything is made.

  4. 4

    Get your video

VidGenius narrates, draws or finds every picture, adds captions and edits the video. Swap anything you do not like, render, and download a 1080p MP4.

Questions, answered

How do I write a script that finds good footage?

Name real people, places, dates and events. Footage is found by what a sentence says, so a sentence with nothing filmable in it gets a map or a card instead.

Whose footage is it?

In the Documentary style it belongs to the people who filmed it, and what you publish is yours to check. The Stock Footage style uses only footage that is free to use.
