Privacy

VidGenius makes videos from what you type. This page says what we keep about you, why, and what you can do about it. "We" is VidGenius; "the studio" is the online VidGenius at app.vidgeni.com; "the program" is VidGenius installed on your own computer.

What we keep

• Your account. Your email address and, if you sign in with a password, that password in a scrambled form we cannot read. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and the name on your Google account - nothing else. We never see your Google password, your contacts, your mail or your files.
• What you make. The topics and scripts you write, the recordings, pictures and links you give us, and the videos made from them. In the studio a finished video is kept for a few days so that you can download it - how many depends on your plan and is shown beside the video - and is then removed.
• Your plan and payments. Which plan you have, the credits you have used, and for a payment made by transfer: the amount, the method and the proof you send us. We do not receive or keep card numbers.
• What went wrong. When a video fails, a short technical note of what failed, so that we can fix it.
• The program on your computer. A licence is tied to one computer, so we keep a code that identifies that computer - not what is on it. The videos the program makes stay on your computer. The service keys you put into it are yours and are used to reach those services on your behalf.

What we use it for

To sign you in, to make the videos you ask for, to count your credits, to answer you when you write to us, and to keep the service working. We do not sell what we know about you, and we do not show advertising.

Who else handles it

Making a video takes other companies' services, and they receive what the job needs and no more:

• the companies that host the studio, its accounts and its files;
• the services that write, draw, narrate and animate - they are sent the text, pictures or audio of the video being made;
• Google, when you choose to sign in with Google;
• YouTube and similar sites, when you give us a link to a video and ask for a film made from it.

We may also hand over information where the law requires it.

YouTube

If you connect a YouTube channel (Tools → Connect accounts), VidGenius publishes your finished videos to it through YouTube API Services. By connecting a channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google handles your information under the Google Privacy Policy.

• What we ask Google for. Two permissions and no more: to upload videos to the channel you choose, and to see that channel's own name, handle and picture.
• What we do with it. We show you which channel is connected, and when you press Publish we upload that one video with the title, description, tags and thumbnail you see on the page. We do not read your other videos, your comments, your subscribers or your analytics, and we change or delete nothing on your channel.
• What we keep. The channel's name, handle and picture, and the authorisation Google gives us for it. That authorisation is stored encrypted, in your own studio, and is used only to publish the videos you ask us to. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising, and no person reads it.
• How to take it back. Press Disconnect in Tools → Connect accounts: we tell Google the authorisation is withdrawn and delete what we kept. You can also remove VidGenius yourself, at any time, on Google's own page: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Deleting your VidGenius account deletes it too.

VidGenius's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Cookies

The studio keeps one cookie that says you are signed in, and one that leads you to your own studio. This website keeps a small note in your browser of the plan you pressed, so that it is still chosen when you get to the studio. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Your account for as long as you have it. Finished videos in the studio for the days your plan gives, then they are removed whole. Payment records for as long as accounts and tax rules require.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your account and what belongs to it. Write to us at support@vidgeni.com or on WhatsApp, from the email or number on your account, and we will do it.

Children

VidGenius is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep an account for one.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we say so in the studio.
