How VidGenius makes a video

Six steps from an idea to a video you can upload. You make two decisions - the style and the words - and the studio does the rest.

  1. 1

    Choose a style

Open the studio and pick one of 19 styles. Each card plays a real sample, so you see the look before you choose it. Long videos for YouTube and vertical shorts are listed apart.

  2. 2

Say what the video is about

Type a topic in one line and the script is written for you, at the length you ask for. Or paste your own script - it is kept word for word. In most styles you can upload your own voice recording instead, and some formats start from your own footage or from links you paste.

  3. 3

Choose the language and the voice

Sixteen languages, each with natural voices you can listen to before choosing. Set the shape - wide for YouTube, tall for shorts - and whether you want captions.

  4. 4

Read the script and see what it takes

The script is shown to you before anything is made. Change any line. The studio says exactly how many credits the video takes, so there are no surprises.

  5. 5

    Press make

The narration is recorded, every picture is drawn or every clip found, the captions are set and the video is edited - usually in minutes. You can watch it being made, step by step.

  6. 6

Check it, change it, download it

In most styles the video opens on a timeline: swap a picture or a clip you do not like, change a line or the narrator, and render. Then download a 1080p MP4. Titles, a description with chapters, tags and a thumbnail can be written for it too.

What is done for you

Script to screen

Writing, voice, pictures or footage, captions and the edit, in one go.

Short and long-form

From a 30-second short to a 30-minute video - and sleep stories up to two hours.

16 languages, many voices

Narration and captions in sixteen languages, with natural voices for each.

Your script, your voice

Paste your own script, or upload your own recording and the video is cut to it.

Credits before you click

Every video shows what it takes up front. Nothing runs until you say go.

Change it after the cut

Swap a picture or a clip, change a line or the narrator, and render again.

Ready for YouTube

Titles, a description with chapters, tags and a thumbnail can be written for each video.

Runs in your browser

Nothing to install. Open it on any computer and start.

What you can start from

A line of text

"Why the sky is blue." The script is written for the length you choose, and you read it before anything is made.

Your own words

Paste a finished script, or upload your own voice recording. Nothing is rewritten, and the video is cut to what you said.

Your own footage or links

Some formats start from a video you upload - commentary, gameplay - or from YouTube links you paste: compilations, recaps and the Clipping tool.

Questions, answered

Do I need editing or design skills?

No. If you can type a sentence, you can make a video. You can still change a line, a picture or a clip before the final render if you want to.

Can I use my own script, or my own voice?

Yes. Paste your script and it is kept word for word. In most styles you can also upload your own voice recording, and the video is cut to it.

How long does it take to make one?

Minutes. A two-minute video is ready in about five minutes, and a ten-minute one in about a quarter of an hour. Formats that search for real footage take longer than drawn ones.

Can I change a video after it is made?

Yes. You read and edit the script before anything is made, and in most styles the finished video opens on a timeline where you can swap a picture or a clip, change a line or the narrator, and render again.
